On may 20-22 this year, the EIB delegation headed by Vazil Khudak visited Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the two-day visit program, meetings were organized in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with representatives of a number of ministries and departments, as well as with Sukhrob Kholmuradov, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on investments.
The EIB delegation also held a meeting with representatives of Uzavtosanoat, during which an agreement was reached on financing a new 60 million euro worth project of a joint venture between the automobile company of Uzbekistan and the PSA Peugeot Citroën.
"We are ready to allocate some 500 million euros for the development of projects in Uzbekistan. The financing will go through framework loans that provide sufficient flexibility of funds. These loans are set to be distributed among specific entities, specific companies, enterprises and municipalities and non-governmental institutions”, said Khudak.
